RICH ROGO
Rich Rogo, raised in Ontario California, studied Fine Art at Chico State and Graphic Design at San Diego State University. Rogo’s commercial art career began while studying at SDSU when he was commissioned by the US Navy to create illustrations and designs, including work for the Navy Seals. Rogo went on to work as an Illustrator for the Medical School at UC San Diego and then spent 20 years Illustrating for UC Extension. While much of Rogo’s commercial career was centered around stoic work for the military, medical and higher education realms, Rich’s biggest art influences were the bold and colorful pop-art of Wayne Thiebaud and the comical work of the Mad Magazine artists. In retirement, Rich found his personal work gravitating towards a much more lighthearted coastal style that depicts groovy people doing fun things.
